Today is the first day of the rest of my life!!

OK, so maybe that is a little extreme for a title, but I think I feel that way. Today is my quit day. Today is the day that I quit smoking. I have been smoking for 16 years!!! That is a long time. I am not crazy enough to quit cold turkey; I am using the patch. I must admit, I really didn't understand the impact of nicotine addiction. I mean, I know that I am using the patch, but it is by NO MEANS a cigarette!!! I can do this!! I know that I can do this!!! The amount of money saved annually is incentive enough! It's like close to $1700!! That's a new wardrobe or a pretty great vacation!! And luckily, I am not quitting alone. My girlfriend is quitting too. She is horribly afraid that we may kill each other. But I think that she and I can do absolutely ANYTHING together! Quitting smoking included! I will be using my blog to track my success. After I succeed at this, who knows what I will conquer next! Look out world!!!!
